I bought this software recently. It was easy to use the first time. My question is: If you take any photograph like a portrait that was not meant for a passport photo, can you use it for a passport photograph? I am asking this because of the size of portraits normally being big. Also, If you have a photograph with a background not suitable for a passport, is there a way out?
Thank you for your time and concern to follow on how the product is working. You have good marketing skills.

I am using the passport maker since last 5years and I never had any sort of problem with the Passport maker s/w. Its a fantastic s/w.

But, I would love to have a 1-Click Photo fix which would adjust Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation and Sharpness etc to make the photo look better.

That will definitely give the Passport maker a clear edge.

  3. Les Stephenson says:

    Hi Amir.
I have never had any problem’s using Passport Photo ever since day 1
I have since configured my printer settings to work with Passport Photo and have increased the speed of taking a digital photo loading it into Passport Photo, making slight alterations regarding colour lightness, sharpness and printing two or more relative to the country in question. and have an 100% acceptance from the relative government bodies concerned. also I find any correspondence I have had with you concerning my change of e-mail and once I lost my s / number you have always been very prompt and helpfully.Thank you for you concern in sending me this follow up email.
    Best Regards.

Fantastic software, use it instantly without any time spent learning new software, so user friendly.

Stop wasting paper and ink trying to get passport photographs the correct size, the money you save will pay for the software in no time. Excellent value for money.

Also like the child id card idea, going to do them for our grandchildren

  6. Stuart says:

After trying numerous programs and getting more frustrated at not being able to do a simple task without spoiling reams of photo paper, I found this neat little package that made things not just easy but a pleasure to use, highly recomended and it won’t break the bank.

  7. Alexander says:

    Wirklich empfehlenswert!!

We just collected our new Passports and they are all done perfectly well with the photo’s printed from PassPortPhoto!
Must warn that part of the success depends on the quality of the photo’s taken. Make sure you follow the passportphotorules.

  10. ANDE LAI says:

I use the software in my studio and is pleased with it.
The margin is set at default 14
but when I change the default to 2 and 4 it often goes back to 14
How do I overcome this problem ?
Current your software does not have rotation in smaller degree ( tilting )
    Can you look into this.

    Thank you

PassPortPhoto is very easy to use. We have quickly produced the needed photo’s. I found one small thing that is not so clear and looks like a bug. We use 10x15cm paper. When in Portrait, everything is fine. However, when you select Landscape mode, the preview doesn’t rotate. The orientation on the screen stays the same, but and so do the photo’s. It seems orientation is not working.

    Hans

    • admin says:

      Hi Hans,

Are you selecting the orientation from within Passport Photo’s main screen (rotate photos) or from the printer setup?

      • Hans says:

I was doing that within the “Print using your printer” section, “Page Setup”, Page Orientation. So basically I’m telling PassPortphoto to use the paper in Landscape mode, but PassPortPhoto keeps showing the paper in Portrait in the preview.

great product – serves the purpose well – thanks

  15. Mark Spooner says:

Have just started using the Passport Photo software and found it just what we needed. Had previously been struggling trying to use a template I designed in Photoshop and when trying to process 150-200 a day for passport photos it can become quite stressful. This software has saved a lot of time and improved our work flow from taking the shot to presenting the customer with the print.
Thanks a lot and much appreciated. Mark & Maria

official photos for most government documents must be stamped and dated by an established buisness. including passport photos

    • admin says:

Right. These are the regulations for Canadian passport photos (and that’s the only country we’re aware of which makes this requirement).

We have a bold notice about it in the program’s download page and in fact almost all our Canadian clients use Passport Photo commercially for their passport printing businesses.

  17. Colin Crosby says:

Searched web for a good programme to print passport photographs.
    Thankfully I founds yours.
    Brilliant little programme
    Thank you.

  18. Bader says:

The software is perfect and simple compared to others. There are 3 things need to be considered but not related to the software. It is good to add them to the help section of the software:

1- The background color behind the photographed person because it differs from one country to other.
2- The distance between the lens and photographed person.

3- It is better to place the camera on a tripod to avoid image fuzziness.

    Thank you.

    • Bader says:

There is one more thing. I did not print out the photos at home because I faced big difficulty from home printers ink types and photo paper types. After spending a lot of time at home, I took the photos to the photography shop and printout them their without paying a lot.

    • admin says:

Your suggestions are excellent. I’ll update our website with these tips and will include them in our next newsletter.

      Thanks a lot!

Also, regarding home printing, I have a pretty reasonable Epson printer, but to print passport pictures I also create a JPEG file and print in a shop. I guess that if you’re used to printing high quality photos at home you’ve already got the right paper and ink. I just print documents so I don’t carry photo paper or high quality ink.

Many folks report printing Passport Photos with their own printers. I know some of them and they’re doing it commercially.

  19. This software is just excellent. Solved my problem in no time at all! Thank you!

  20. rafael says:

    Excellent program.

we print 3 types of sizes of photos, but in the impression they are going to another page, I hope you can improve this.

    • admin says:

If there’s still space on the page, make sure that Passport Photo can use it all.

Check the printing setting (including under ‘Advanced’) and make sure that there’s no borders and that the program can use the entire page.

  21. Tracy says:

PS: The trial is great – and is exactly what you get!

  22. Tracy says:

Needed three new sets of passport photos – photo booths are not very easy to use with young children…so I googled to find if we could produce our own or have someone do it online – and this program is the answer. It is so easy to use and very, very reasonable to buy. It’s so refreshing to come across something that gives you what you want at an easily affordable price. Great after sales service too, recommended to anyone. Look forward to seeing what else this company has to offer in the future.

  23. rick says:

Does what it says on the tin. What more could one ask!

  24. Inal says:

Great software. Easy, saves a lot of time. Thank you!

  25. Aslam says:

I used this product and it is good. I would suggest if you provide the functionality to change the background of the photo as well then that would be great and highly required by all and sundry.
    Thanks

  26. Jan Adams says:

Thanks for installing this so quickly. I am really impressed with it and had no trouble resizing the prints to give the desired result. As I have a job in Human Service area it is very handy to keep track of everyone accessing this service.
    Thanks again.

PS The only problem is that I think I ordered it twice, can you check this.

  27. Kareen says:

thank you very much. Just brilliant.

  28. Kareen says:

Hi, I have been using pport photo for about 5 years now and it still serves me well. I was wondering though if in the future there could be a possibilty of having a line run horizontal thru the middle of the passport templates (not for printing but as a visual only). The reason I ask is that here in Australia the persons eyes must be in the centre of the photo, but, for Austria the eyes must be in the upper half of the photo. If I had a line I could see exactly where the eyes will be when printed and not relying on guesswork.
The Passport Office in Australia is sooooo very very fussy and if the eyes are too high or too low the photos will be rejected every time. The same goes for the Austrian Consulate.
    Just a thought.

    • admin says:

Passport Photo lets you add measurements. In the editor window, click on ‘Add measurement’ and drag a line between the eyes and the edge of the photo. This will let you measure the exact printed dimension and make sure that it complies with the strict Australian requirements.

  29. John says:

This program is great I just purchased. I wonder if the program can start with a full screen will be great or have maximize option.

  30. Alekos says:

i’m very gland i purchased this software. Is great and very usefull.I would like to know if i can print less than 4 photos at a time? Or if i can set how many photos to print.
    Thank you very much

    • admin says:

      Hi Alekos,

Sure you can. There are ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons under the photo. They control how many copies are printed. The default is 4.

You can also mix different photos on the same sheet. Passport Photo will print as many as fit on a single sheet of paper.

  31. LALAN says:

    Hi,

I like this software & would recommend to everyone who knows how to click a photo.
Its value for money & simple to use. I recovered my cost with my 1st print out that was 8 x 11 with 4 passport photos each for our family of four.
Just imagine the cost to get these 16 photos at WallsGreen or CVS or anywhere else..

    Hats off to the team.

    Regards

    lalan

I LOVE this program…it makes passport photos easier than I ever thought they could be. I have a retail store where passport photos are offered as an additional service, and I needed something not only fast but easy to use…and that is exactly what I found with this program. Thank you Onthegosoft.com. I would recommend this to anyone.

  40. Ajala Adedotun says:

Most times when i print, the part of the head usually cut off. please, help here. thanks

  41. Very user friendly and most of all excellent after sale service. Thank you.

  42. Joyce says:

Very easy software to use with excellent results. However, I don’t seem to be able to set the printer settings to achieve optimum number of photos on 4 x 6 (it defaults to four prints when 6 are possible). Any suggestions?

    • admin says:

      Hi Joyce,

This sounds like a margins problem. In order to fit 6 2×2 inch photos on 4×6 inch paper, there must be no margins at all.

Click on your printer’s setting and then select Advanced. Then look for anything that looks like:

      * Margins (set to 0)
      * Borders (disable)
      * Border-less printing (enable)
      * Print to full page (enable)

Let me know if you find anything. If you do, tell me which printer you’re using and which settings you needed to adjust and I’ll include it here for the benefit of other users.

  43. Rafic says:

This is a very intuitive program that is extremely easy to use.

There could be improvements in future upgrades:

    – ability to resize or zoom in/out the photos (as you have to take the photo at several distances to get the correct head size)
    – ability to print 2 or more different pictures on one A4 or 4×6)

Nonetheless it is highly recommended and will save you a lot of money.

    • admin says:

To resize photos you need to resize the cropping rectangle. Here’s a link to the demo that show how to do it:
      http://www.onthegosoft.com/demos/pp_basic_edit.htm

You can add several photos and print them on the same sheet of paper. Click on the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ buttons next to the photos to determine how many will be printed of each type. Passport Photo will arrange as many photos as it can on the sheet of paper.

We live on a remote island (St Helena) in the South Atlantic Ocean.

A dear friend has kindly bought this program to install on our PC for us, it is a godsend, having processed Black & White & Colour Passport Photos in a Darkroom for 26 years, we were the only recognised photographers and was forced to change to Digital. Trying to cope with the new Bio Metric passport requirements was a pain, now we shall have less hassle with the aid of this program. Any other updates/information will be greatly appreciated.

  45. Dr. Katherine Cabaniss says:

I purchased Passport Photo a couple of years ago, when I needed to renew my passport. I wanted to have a decent photo (not easy for me) since the thing lasts for 10 years. This software works great, does the job, and is very reasonably priced.

During the holidays, I needed to fit some photos into a pre-cut mat that spelled, “Disney.” I downloaded the free Passport Photo update, which includes the capacity to insert your own dimensions for the finished size, as well as adjust a specific area within the photo. This software worked great to adjust the photos to fit an unusually-shaped opening without making them look like a forced fit. You can easily zoom in on a specific part of a photo and crop at the same time. The results were very nice! What a useful tool that does double duty for crafters, and the price is just right. Highly recommended!

  46. John Abramson says:

Application works great, I frequently do 20 to 30 at a time. Could you add a “remove all” feature so that I can remove all 30 at once? It is a bit of a pain to remove them one at a time.

  47. Dave Atkins says:

How about a facility to add a set of words to all the pics. e.g. if you
are making a set of security passes and they are all for OnTheGoSoft
you would want it to appear on each photograph and it would be a pain
to have to enter it on each one?

  48. admin says:

    Hi Valerie,

Just as we went on our yearly vacation, a server error caused our registration page to crash. It’s fixed now and we’re manually sending out purchase receipts to everyone who’s affected by this problem. If you still haven’t received your, use our contact page (click on Contact above).

It’s been fine for the last 362 days and I should have guessed a problem like that would happen the minute we’re away.

  49. Valerie says:

It would be great if I could get my registration to work!!!

  50. Art Liberty says:

I’d love to purchase this software — it looks awesome! But I have a Mac Book Pro… How about a version for us Mac OS X users?
